Our Background

Patrick Silvia and Robert N. Hunziker, Sr. have been in the business of selling restaurant companies since 1987. We have been the advisors in the sale of multi-unit franchised restaurant companies for both Franchisors and Franchisees in virtually every major franchised restaurant system in the United States.

Our most mentionable recent transaction was the sale of 148 IHOP restaurants with Argonne Capital and FMS Management Systems Inc. Patrick Silvia and Robert Hunziker have also sold several regional concepts around the United States; most recently the Spaghetti Warehouse casual dining chain and Freebirds World Burrito fast casual chain.



Patrick Silvia

Patrick Silvia did commodity trading for two years before he started the Multi Unit Investment Banking arm of National Restaurant Brokers in 1998. He has closed deals ranging from 5 to 100+ Million. Because Silvia was one of the first investment bankers executing multi-unit restaurant deals at that time, the restaurant space became his passion.

Patrick Silvia was brought up on a 500 acre farm in Newport, R.I. He attended Palomar College in San Diego. He received an associates degree in health, and then traveled through Europe, Africa, Asia, South America, and the Carribean. While in the Carribean he acquired his captain's license and chartered yachts for two years. Patrick Silvia upgraded his license over the years to a 200 ton license. Over the course of his maritime lifetime, he ran 100 plus foot private yachts, research vessels, crew boats, sports fishing boats, and parasail boats.



Robert N. Hunziker, Sr.

Rob Hunziker began his career in audit with Price Waterhouse in NYC in 1977, and obtained his CPA certification in 1979. He worked for Ford Motor Company from 1979 through 1982 as a dealer development operations representative, then a zone manager in Marketing.

Rob moved to the investment arena in 1982, taking a position as a stockbroker in Memphis, TN. Over the next 17 years, Rob worked with various investment houses in New York and Atlanta, where his focus ranged from managing individual accounts to overseeing public retirement plans and trading U.S. equities for European bank portfolio managers.

Robert Hunziker's restaurant valuations and sales career started in 1998, where he has since generated valuations for restaurant companies with an aggregate market value in the billions. Rob has also helped negotiate acquisitions for restaurant companies ranging in sale price from $1 million to in excess of $100 million.

Rob has written multiple articles for several restaurant journals including the "Restaurant Finance Monitor" regarding buying, selling, and valuing restaurant companies, and is quoted on a regular basis in national publications regarding restaurant companies.

Robert N. Hunziker, Sr. was born on February 21, 1954 in Washington D.C. and grew up in Rye, N.Y. Rob graduated from Rye HS in 1972, was captain of the wrestling team and the baseball team, and played running back and safety on the football team. He attended Cornell University, graduating with a B.S. in 1976 and an MBA in Finance in 1977, with a double registration BA/MBA program. He married Sandra Rossier in 1981 and his son Robby was born Februay 17, 1988. Robby is currently attending Cornell University.
